Re: Change default pic used in gallery for albums?
You can always take an image and modify the exif data to read as the oldest and put it back onto your SD card. This way the Gallery will pick it up as being the oldest and display that as the thumbnail.

Re: Change default pic used in gallery for albums?
Hey xSD,
I actually tried something like that... not changing the EXIF data though. I used a program to change the file creation and file modified dates on the jpg. That didn't work. I'll try your suggestion and see what happens.... Thanks, Kosta |

Re: Change default pic used in gallery for albums?
Hi guys, xSD's suggestion does work. For those of you who do not know what EXIF data is, read this first: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchang...ge_file_format
It just stores a lot of information about camera model, camera settings, data, location, etc. all inside the image file itself. This information can be changed using software, though. What I did was make a copy of an image that I want to be the default icon for a particular album and renamed it to "_folder.jpg". That's just what I did, but you can name it anything you like. Download and install an application that will be able to modify EXIF data for that image. I used "PhotoMe Beta-Release" which is pretty good found here: http://www.photome.de/ You should change the values for the following tags in your photo's EXIF data: (the EXIF data in your photo will vary depending on the camera model) -File Change Date and Time -Date and Time of Original Data Generation -Date and Time of Digital Data Generation I used a value of "1900:01:01 12:00:00' for all three tags above. The Gallery app might only be looking at one of these values when it does its sorting, but I changed anything that concerned a date & time just to be safe. Hope that helps, thanks. |
