Formatting the card won't do much. I tried 3 different ones already, but the thing is that the setting for the sd and usb is disabled (wish I knew how that happened!).

Thanks for your suggestion tho..

A final option is to boot on recovery and select wipe sd card from the options.

As far as I know, if you didn't run Toast or at the very least unrEVOked root method, you aren't. I haven't flashed any custom ROMs so I don't know if they guarantee root access.

Have you downloaded the evo-recovery.zip and tried adb? I may be old school, but that's still the way I access root.

If I could get to that menu I would be able to flash the stock rom, but I can't. Every time I plug the phone in recovery mode the PC picks it up, but when I execute the command the phone doesn't do anything.

This is what I tried already but it won't work. When I put my commands and press enter it says the device is not connected, when it actually is. .

Another thing I found was that I may have updated the phone and that led me to the issue I am in. I think the version everybody is unlocking in is >> Supersonic_1.32.651.1

My version says Supersonic_1.32.651.6

I think that 6 in the end is the one that caused my sd and usb to crash or get disabled somehow. Still only able to charge while phone is off... This sucks!

Re: Please Help! Unable to to mount SD card...

I don't know about that. There was a debate whether or not the OTA update broke root-ability.

Are you using HTC Sync and is the device showing up properly on your PC? If you're getting the "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" as I was, then I would suggest sucking it up and starting over. The problem with that is, for me, I had to transfer files from the PC to the SD through my old Touch Pro, then put the SD in the EVO. I ended up getting all three PC36IMG.zip images and putting them on my card as romPC36IMG.zip, rootPC36IMG.zip and nandPC36IMG.zip, renaming them as I need to for flashing purposes.

Re: Please Help! Unable to to mount SD card...

Here's the original xda thread for SD and USB charging issues:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695243

For those who have devices that are recognized by their PC but not when you run adb commands you could be looking at abd driver issue.
See if this helps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532719

Post #1, Section: "Im not getting a notification of Android ADB when i plug in my USB"

You could also try running recovery without the AndroidSDK, as outlined by FastRX8:
"You do not need android-sdk at all.
I have a laptop w/ Vista that has never been connected to my phone. I connected the phone, and it failed to see it. It looked for drivers, but failed. Only thing I could do was Charge or Disk Drive. Went into the disk drive and copied the HTC Sync file and installed it.
After it was done, I unplugged the phone, reconnected it w/ HTC Sync.
Then I downloaded the evo-recovery.zip, open the run command and typed "c:\evo-recovery\adb-windows reboot recovery".
Worked fine. Then I typed "c:\evo-recovery\recovery-windows.bat" and went right into recovery mode.
Never needed the sdk."

Good luck.

Re: Please Help! Unable to to mount SD card...

Well at this point... you could have either a bad card slot (doubtful) or somehow the flash had some corruption at some point and it only affects the memory card... I would suggest to flash once again stock. If even at this point it still gives you issues then exchange it (assuming that you got it from a retail store).
