Keeping Bluetooth Discovery always on?

Is there anyway with this device to keep bluetooth discovery always on. The stupid handsfree in my daily driver, with every smartphone I've ever had, has only worked when discovery is left on.
Believe me I know this is going to kill the battery life in a device with already horrible battery life.
Any Ideas?

Go to your bluetooth settings and change the discoverable checkbox to on. Is that what you are looking for?

Thanks, but no. This only turns on discovery for 2 minutes. I need to keep discovery on constantly.

I know this is an old thread, but did you ever find a solution? I'm having the same issue with my handsfree car system.

Re: Keeping Bluetooth Discovery always on?

Once turn turn on discovery and your device is sync the phone will stay connected to your handsfree or whatever untill you turn it off. I use one during my work day.
Discoverable only scans for two mintues giving you enough time to connect device. If it sanned all day it kills battery.

Re: Keeping Bluetooth Discovery always on?

Yeah, your phone should 'remember' to which devices it is paired to so when they come within range the phone will attempt to make a connection to them and start the authentication process on its own.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; Sprint APA9292KT Build/FRF91) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

I never found a solution to the problem to my discovery issue. I finally replaced the stereo. The phone would never auto-connect. Even after a manual connect the phone would disconnect after a couple of minutes.
