Soft resets while booting apps that require GPS

Having "random soft reset" issues with my EVO. I'm not rooted, and have installed the OTA update for the patch.

Whenever I access Layar Reality, Google Navigation OR Sprint Navigation...the phone hangs for a moment...and soft resets itself. I am able to access Google Maps with GPS enabled...but nothing else. Am starting to get annoyed...does anyone have an idea of what I should to to correct this?

I'm an Android noob...and need a bit of guidance. I HAD Android task killer installed but have uninstalled it on information that I've read from the Android Forum

Re: Soft resets while booting apps that require GPS

Yeah, my phone kept resetting every few minutes for an hour... Obviously soft resets didn't fix it so i just factory reset. I do recall seeing the gps icon appear right before a couple of the random soft resets, so it was probably the same issue. We really need to figure this out as it shouldn't be happening. Or perhaps I should say Sprint needs to issue an update ASAP.

edit: btw, i've never installed the task killer, so that's not the issue. Well it could be contributing, but it's not the only cause.

Mine just started doing this today too. Here's what I installed today:

Battery Indicator
vizBattery Widget

I uninstalled both of these and am still crashing and rebooting when opening Layar

Re: Soft resets while booting apps that require GPS

have hard resetted (factory reset under settings/privacy)

been able to run layar reality and Nav with GPS on again. I have NOT reinstalled ANY task killers.

The combination was gathered at Android Forum...

once ATK is installed, it'll "break" your GPS functionality within certain apps. Even after uninstall, you'll still be affected.

BOTTOMLINE:

If you have random resets...suggest you BACK UP YOUR DATA/APPS...then conduct a HARD reset (FACTORY Reset)
