Does this work with the EVO? I see it has Nexus One support which since it has the same processor, I would assumre it would work for the EVO as well. Just want to get an idea before I purchase...

Re: What are you're battery tweaks?

I have everything set to a min. E-Mail set to 4 hour sync. Social updates off. I don't use them. Mobile connection is on,but that's it.

My heavy use is music in the background whilea surf the internet or mess around with apps.

Wow, this app is a must have. I have only used it for a few hours so I cannot speak to any battery improvement experiences. But, it is VERY useful and works perfectly! It is so annoying to have the screen dim while in the middle of something, not anymore!

How To Win The Battery Battle

As most of us have come to the conclusion that the battery life on the HTC EVO isn't the best. However, there simple measures I have taken to prolong my daily use in this battle of power vs. usage. These are things that I've done to help keep my EVO operating.

1st. http://cgi.ebay.com/Dual-2-Port-USB-...item3a5b1e2d4f

2nd. http://cgi.ebay.com/OEM-ORIGINAL-HTC...item255aa4db0b

3rd. http://cgi.ebay.com/Micro-USB-Data-C...item414deb5960

4th.http://cgi.ebay.com/Battery-Desktop-...item439fb61d9c

Total price $24

I should now be well armed to have constant power to my EVO but will need a backpack to carry it all in.

Re: How To Win The Battery Battle

The only flaw with that, is that you ordered a micro USB cable, which you would need to power the battery in the phone, but the connector on the desktop charger is the standard usb rectangle plug. So you would need to plug the car charger (which has the standard usb rectangle plug) into the desktop charger (which has the standard usb rectangle plug) or am I missing something?

Edit: nevermind, I just saw that you plug in the desktop charger into the wall, I didn't look at all of the pictures

Re: How To Win The Battery Battle

I don't know how everyone is getting such sh!tty battery life. I only ran the stock battery for a day, but I got about 14 hours before the notification came on to tell me I had 15% left. And that was with what I consider heavy usage: testing out some games, browsing the Market, randomly texting people, browsing the internet, etc. Right now I've got a Seidio battery in it and I'm working it thru the charge/discharge cycle before I can say how good it is. So far I've gotten an additional 6-8 hours out of it with the same usage. In my opinion (or maybe just in my case) I don't see the need to carry around a battery charger, portable battery, a nuclear reactor, matches, a Swiss Army knife, and spare batteries.

Re: What are you're battery tweaks?

I am currently running advanced task killer (with auto kill: safe enabled) and set cpu (n1 settings seem to work just fine) running with on demand scaling. (scales between 245mhz to 998mhz.) My battery like is more than adequate, as I use it throughout the day tinkering and playing with it and I still have about 40% at the end of the day or so. Also I have GPS, 4G, Wifi, and BT off unless I need them. (also friend feed is off, and brightness set to 25% with a little widget I found on the market.) Hope this helps someone! O yeah, I play with the phone more often than not so I am thinking this battery life is acceptable for most!

Re: How To Win The Battery Battle

i went into setting and then into accounts & sync
and uncheck the auto-sync and seems do be doing really well
going on 14hrs and 10 min. i still have 72 percent left. and still have the 3d back ground on
but everything else is turned off 4g,wi-fi,bluetooth,and gps are all off
i will keep trying, next i will trn off the 3d background butt so far it seems to be holding up like any other phone
they make a 3500 mah battery if you dont care how thick it is this will double the thickness but shouldnt to worry about charging so often
