Evo screen wakeup

My past 2 HTC phones TP1 and TP2 have had random wakeup issues presumably due to the network switching between 1g and 3g and other types of data refreshing like weather and whatnot. Does anybody know if the EVO screen will wakeup in the same way when it is in sleep?

Re: Evo screen wakeup

Well i am running the same version of Android that will be coming on the EVO and my screen does not wake up for anything except for calls and the alarm. So I have a pretty good feeling it wont wake up switching between the two services.

Thanks KBZL, hopefully this is the case with the Evo as well because this is a big pet peeve of mine with my past windows phones. Can anybody with the Evo already from the google I/O confirm this?

It's never turned on without me doing it physically I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Re: Evo screen wakeup

My TP2 did not have this "issue"

Perhaps it was specific to your phone/software, not sure.

My TP has never suffered from this malady either. I've had it about a year and a half.

Re: Evo screen wakeup

My TP does it throughout the day (and night), quite annoying.
Glad to hear that shouldn't be an issue with the Evo.

Mine does it to. Then icons get pushed, settings changed, etc. I HATE that "feature" lol

When you receive a text message, did your screen stays off?
Also when you enter 1x coverage (like airave coverage) it turns the screen on.
