Re: Evo Swype?

I guess if you use shapewriter no need to pre download it, but swype isnt on the marketplace yet. AFAIK

Re: Evo Swype?

as long as they have arrows LOL... i run Xandroid on my Tp2.. Android keyboard nor Better Keyboard have arrows.. which makes it a little difficult to navigate a mistake in texting or web search bar withouth having to backspace/delete your way to where you need to start a correction..

the issue lies in the fact that most android devices have a trackball, dpad, etc.. a TP2 has neither of those.. i get that..

the EVO also doesnt have a trackball, dpad, or the like... whichever keyboard it comes with need to have arrows, or its not gonna work so great..

btw i currently use Better Keyboard - Black on Xandroid

Swype runs decently on the TP2 Xandroid port, but everytime you boot back yo WM then run Haret later it comes up with "this version of swpe is not designed to run with your device" Pain to uninstall, redownload then install everytime so I gave up. Tried the shapewriter, maybe I need to spend some configuring it, but it seems to pick all the wrong words when I "swype" and I end up deleting and tapping out the words, defeating the purpose.
These 2 are so similar, I'm wondering if we will see a patent lawsuit soon?

Re: Evo Swype?

i don't think you want to use swype. i downloaded the file and wanted to install it on my evo. it gave me this:

"this input method may be able to collect all the text you type, including personal data like passwords and credit card numbers. it comes from the application swype."

you have to agree to use

Re: Evo Swype?

They're not stealing anything from you with SWYPE...the program HAS to capture what you do with your finger sliding around to translate it into words, and input them to the text box...it can't work any other way, it doesn't type letter by letter unless you touch individual letters (which means there'd be no point in using it anyways)...

google is your friend.

its a keyboard that you 'swipe' your finger to the letters of the word your trying to spell and the keyboard figures out what your typing.

anyways.. anyone know how to "Back" between letters? like a back arrow? the arrow on the keyboard just erases all the letters, instead of goes to the one letter i want to delete.
