EDIT: Was thinking even though I am posting these here on the EVO forums, these accessories are very useful for lots of the devices supported on PPCG.

Seems like Android's support for BT HID isn't there, unless you root your device.

I think HTC should have done more with the Evo's HDMI port. With the right setup, the Evo could be used as a portable computer replacement/substitute. Imagine if you could connect a BT keyboard and mouse to the Evo, and use the HDMI to connect a computer monitor. Of course you would only have some basic functions, but for someone that doesn't want to spend the money on a netbook/laptop/extra desktop computer and has an extra monitor lying around, I think the Evo could make a decent replacement. Or for those that want to browse the web in their living rooms (lol just for theory's sake lol), you could hook the Evo up to your TV, etc etc.

Why would you even need a keyboard for EVO when we have Swype, in fact I was hoping that I could get a virtual keyboard for my laptop and get rid of the actual keys.

Is your laptop touch screen? if so, I think you can get the tablet virtual keyboard to work on it.

Besides, as someone mentioned, you can connect your phone via HDMI to a large screen and type on it via a keyboard of this type. Would work well for impromptu presentations... Slide shows or browsing from the couch, without having to stand next to the phone / Screen.

A keyboard could also be useful for gaming... ;) Especially since we have the nice kickstand to prop our device up on a table... You could lean back and game away!!!

If you're talking about my previous post, I was just theorizing lol. I don't think such functionality is currently available in the Evo. I was saying that HTC should have added it. I think it would be a lot more useful on a Windows Mobile phone where all the office productivity apps are already built in to the OS.
