Sprint - Google Voice integration question, Message sync

I'm having trouble finding answers around the site, but when i have my messages sync with google voice (after integrating my sprint number to google) are my texts supposed to show up through the default messaging app or only through the google voice app? Anyone have a solution?

When you log into Google Voice on the web, look at your settings. In the phones section, click "Edit" on your mobile phone that's integrated with Sprint. In the area that pops up, there is a checkbox :
"Text Settings:
Receive text messages on this phone (mobile phones only) "

Check that and save your changes. I have the google/sprint integration (used my pre-existing GV number to be represented to others) and I get the texts as I did before the integration. They also show up in Google Voice too, so it's like having a backup of your texts online as well. Both incoming and outgoing.

That should do it for ya. If you don't want texts to go to your default messaging app, uncheck that box and just use the google voice app. Good luck!

The "lurker" status is set when you have less than a certain amount of posts here. 25 I think... It's nothing personal toward you
