How do I sync my contacts with Google?
 

I just don't wanna have to write down all my contacts before getting my Evo 3D tomorrow. Also, my PC monitor blew out, so I don't have a pc to use for this...

Using People app (HTC Sense UI):

1. Start the People app.
2. Switch to the groups tab/pane.
3. Click on the menu button and choose “Sync groups”.
4. Uncheck “Sync all contacts” and leave checked the actual groups you want to sync, again this should be “My Contacts” and any custom you have made, but mileage may vary.
5. Click Save.

Hmmm... When I go to 'People', and switch to the 'Groups' Tab and hit the menu button...the only two options are Add Group and Delete. Also, I'm picking mine up from the Shack, and they can't sync my contacrs over for me. The sales guy was specific about that.

Only one contact shows up, and it's my girl's old cell number.

I think if you go into Settings>accounts then click on your google account and make sure contacts is checked it should sync them. You may want to see if any one else can verify this. Id hate to be responsible for you losing all of them.

Yeah, I tried this before as well. Literally did nothing at all. This has been my first google/android phone. When I put my contacts in, I saved them undwr Phone not Google. If your contacts aren't saved as Google, you cannot sync them with google. Tried XDA, SprintUsers, etc....all said the same thing.

In people app use import/export to SD

yeah, export to sd card. then import to from sd card to google. Then youll have them as google contacts and keep them for as long as google is still around.
