Never heard of these guys before... Just checked the link and saw the Evo 4G case they had up and it is SEXY AS HELL!! I'll definitely be looking into buying an Evo 3D case when it comes out

I know this thread is old however.....I had the Ballistic HC (red) for my EVO. It was THE best case that I've ever bought and I will risk breaking it before I put it in an Otterbox again (my 2 year old completely destroyed the defender case...and my phone in the process!!) Thank god for TEP!! I just upgraded to the 3D from the EVO today and while in the Sprint store the rep tried to get me into an Otterbox Defender. I noticed he had the Defender on his EVO and he was downplaying my Ballistic (mostly because he never heard of it), so I issued a challenge: I told him that I would buy 2 right now IF....he would go outside and just toss his EVO onto the ground, didn't have to be a high toss, but a genuine under handed toss. Needless to say he didn't do it. Even tho my EVO was in mint condition, the lady that looked at it prior to giving me my $150 credit on the trade in told me that if I was to scratch it at all I would lose the credit. I packed it back into the Ballistic, took the rep outside and frisbee'd my phone about 10 yards. Not a scratch on the phone whatsoever. If the Ballistic HC can withstand: A 2 year old launching it out of a moving Truck into a tree going 45mph AND it being able to stay on top of a moving SUV on the highway at 55MPH (sat it there while loading a carseat, forgot to take it off) I will definitely wait til August to get mine!! I bought the case due to my hyper son, but I kept the case due to the ruggedness of it. I will warn you tho, once its put together, this thing is HUGE but your phone is safe and ready for what ever life throws at it!!

never used one but i wanted one before i got my 3D but sadly not out at time of release so i got the defender till the ballistic comes out

That's an awesome review, and it has me thinking of making the switch from my defender to a ballistic case (and giving my defender to my wife). but I definately had to have something in the mean time, so we shall see.

How does it compare (in size) to the Otterbox defender case? I like the Defender, but it makes the phone pretty big, and I don't like the holster. I prefer the way the Ballistic one works.

With the Ballistic, there are 2 choices: outer skin on? Or off? With the outer skin on the phone was huge but protected with the "Five layers" and it came in handy. But sometimes it was too huge so I ended up taking off the outer skin. Both levels fitted into the holster fairly easily too. With the Defender, there was only one option, you had to have the whole thing on the phone, outer layer and all. Ballistic's fourth layer was good enough for me while I was working and having the skin to put on after work makes a big difference in size. Plus it looked better! The red on the Ballistic was sweet when you took off the outer skin. I know the outer layer on the EVO Defender had to stay on or it would look ugly. Either way it went, the Ballistic both with and without the extra layer, still lived up to expectation. My Defender was toast after my son figured out how to remove the tabs, just pulled them up and bit them off. All he could do with the Ballistic was take the outer layer off. Plus the polymer doesn't collect the lint like the rubber outer layer does thus it doesn't look as nasty after a week of use.

I'm now really considering the Ballistic. I was somewhat disappointed with the Otterbox having no mesh over the speaker and no protection at the earpiece end either. It just doesn't look as refined as the one I had for my Hero. Another thing about Otterbox cases that I don't like is they don't shut as firmly if you have to take them off. The first time it's tight, and each time you remove the phone from it the little latches seem to get looser and it starts to have little creaks on the corners where you can feel the top and bottom shells moving.

They have yet to come out with the HC case, I cannot wait it is getting a little crazy with this defender...

I am not sure what the deal is, but I decided to go ahead and order up a case. I should have gone ahead and got two since they were 50% off and got my free shipping, but I bought one and paid $10 shipping. However...now the page for HC case is gone (HTC Evo 3D Cases | Ballistic Case Co.).

Maybe whats taking so long is that they had to scrap the original design and they are making something completely new? All I know is it better be worth it!

I had thought about doing a review of Tue ballistic cawe and then a comparison of the two (both written and YouTube). however, ive never done one before so it seems a daunting task to take on. Being new to it, having a busy schedule between work and family, and then the holidays, I'm not so sure. Well see how things are at the end of the week lol.

has anybody received their ballistic HC case?? i was thinking about getting one, but as all of you know, it wasn't available. then they were shooting out emails saying that you can order it for half price, like was mentioned, but there is no way in hell i'm going to give somebody my money and then wait for a month or more for them to ship me something that they should have had since the evo 3d hit the market. now ballistic doesn't even have the HC on their webpage. anybody have any idea whats up with that? if you have the case? is it decent??

I still absolutely LOVE my ballistic case. It's been through some shit and has done fine. It's definitely a hunger and people always comment on it...but its perfect for me and my huge hands. Love it love it LOVE IT. I actually accidentally tore off a port cover (my doing) and I've been meaning to see if I can weasel in a warranty return...if not...I'll gladly buy a new one.

Let me out it in perspective....this thing once fell off my hip while riding my motorcycle at about 20-30mph. It avoided traffic behind me, i recovered it, and all was well. I dropped my otterbox while walking through walmart and it broke. Used the otterbox belt clip and it broke from just going on/off my belt. Ballistic now has my business on all my personal phone cases forever. Some people swear by otterbox...but it didn't work out for me....I love this case.
