Power button not working on Incredible.

A few days ago the power button became unresponsive on my Incredible. As much as I try to press it, it will not turn the display on or off. The button does not appear to be jammed, as I can feel it click as I press down. If I try to boot into recovery the volume up and down do not function either, but work fine otherwise. Can this be a software issue? I have a custom ROM installed for about 3 months now, and this just started the other day.

Any ideas? and if I have to go to Verizon for service, will they complain about root and the custom ROM ( I am thinking so)

Thanks

Rusty

Re: Power button not working on Incredible.

Definitely sounds like something strange is going on. If you can feel the button actually pressing in and out but get no response that makes it hard to tell. I'd be looking at every possible option, maybe a hard reset first but back up your device previously.

Re: Power button not working on Incredible.

the only problem with root and a custom rom is your phone wont be under warranty

if there is a problem with your phone verizon wireless may not replace it if you are still under warranty. if you are not under warranty then root /custom rom should not be a problem.

you could always pay to get it fixed if the issue is fixable that would be out of your pocket.
do a upgrade is the next option (if eligible)

best bet is to exhaust all other options before you take it in.

try what Courtney 1985 said and see if that fixes the issue if not go from there.

How do you do a hard reset without the power button?
