Will the OTA Fryo update kill my root?
I rooted my phone about a month ago with unrevoked. Last night my phone downloaded the OTA update for 2.2, but did not install it. How do I keep it from updating. I want to keep the rooting option after the 2.2 update.
So, if I update to 2.2 I lose root, but for how long. Do we have a way to get back if the phone takes the update??? Lastly, if I turn the phone off will it update when I turn it back on?? Thanks Rusty |

Re: Will the OTA Fryo update kill my root?
untill you hear from Unrevoked I wouldnt update the phone since you might lost root. OR you can simply do the Unrevoked "forever" http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-...-2-rooted.html

No...just have to know what you are doing but S-OFF is a must if you ever want a root on 2.2 than you will manually install the ClockworkMod 2505 and re-gain root again...
It's a full thread over on xda site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=771178 |
