Exchange or Gmail for my gmail account

Hi,

I am new to Android and slightly confused. My Incredible is set up with the regular email program configured to get my Gmail via the exchange settings. I also have a separate icon for a dedicated Gmail program that also retrieves my Gmail. (Same account) Which program should I be using to get my Gmail? Are there advantages to one over the other?

Just use the GMAIL program..
