Incredible unresponsive when out-of-hand (Car, table, etc.)

Hey guys,

I had already posted that I had purchased the Verizon car mount, and this doesn't seem to be an issue with that specific mount, as much as an issue with using the Incredible from a dock or surface other than your hand.

When docked in my car, the screen is VERY unresponsive. If I touch any part of the phone with my other hand, the screen gains responsiveness, but otherwise it is unusable... If I use my old universal mount and even loosen the side-foam so it isn't touching, I get the same result.

There's a couple videos posted here at XDA by another guy having the same problem - I think he's able to get it to work by plugging the phone into his charger. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...58#post6387158

Any ideas for a fix? Someone on youtube recommended running a ground wire to the holster... Will that work? Is there a better way?

Thanks in advance,
jakewill

Wow. What a small world. That was actually me that suggested the ground.

I'm sorry I don't have any other ideas, but that guy in the video that I commented on said that he was going to try to get some answers from Verizon. For now it looks like the car charger is the best option though.

If I find out anything else I'll be sure to post it here and please do the same if you find out anything.

I did find out that it is pretty easy to do the following:

1. Plug in either the charger or headphone jack. Either of those seems to ground it out enough... I also tried just clipping the headphone jack (metal part) into the clip part of the belt clip, and that worked, so there just needs to be SOMETHING else attached to the phone or mount that gives it more of a ground.

2. Just hold the sides (or just one side) with your thumb and ring finger while navigating with your index finger. That seems to do the trick.

Hope it helps.
