Google Navigator?
I hate to be the one to mention this, but is it just me or is HTC Navigator "missing" from our apps? I mean on other devices it's PART of google maps once you hit Android 2.1. It's not on ours, even with the latest download of Maps... Anyone else confirm we're being blocked from it?

Re: Google Navigator?
Hm, I wasn't aware it was supposed to be there, but this is my first Android phone... I don't see any Navigator option, just "directions", offhand.

Re: Google Navigator?
Yea, the directions is the same old google maps directions, not turn by turn. I think verizon must have asked them to block it? I know google has a kill switch to disable it on devices as they used they over in Europe for quite awhile. But I imagine we can get around the block with a little research into it.

Re: Google Navigator?
Yikes, I hope the heck so... :(. That is a pretty important feature  .

Re: Google Navigator?
It's there, open the car panel and hit navigate, or in Google maps, search for a location and hit go, then you will see an option to navigate.

Re: Google Navigator?
Ah, they changed the name to Car Panel... Thanks man!

Re: Google Navigator?
Woot, great... thanks for the info!

Re: Google Navigator?
I can't imagine Verizon telling HTC or Google not to allow Google Navigation - sure it means no more VZ Navigator (AKA $10 a month for Big Red), but it is a *huge* selling point for Android Phones, which no undoubtedly has caused at least a handful of people to opt for a Droid, etc, instead of buying a car GPS receiver.

Re: Google Navigator?
go to the market and update google maps. That's what I did and it is there now.
You can also place a shortcut to any address on your home screen. |
