You guys probably just need some regedit's.
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Volume]
"Duration"=dword:00000BB8
Change the duration value. In dec., the default is 3000 ms or 3 seconds (hex is 00000BB8 ). Change it to 1000 dec. and it'll only be 1 second. You could even try putting in 0 and see if that just causes it to not show up at all (though might be kind of annoying when trying to just set it to vibrate quickly).
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay]
"OverlayAPClassName1"="SprintTV"
"OverlayAPClassName2"="WCE_Streaming_Viewer_Window"
For here, I have no idea if it will work, but you could try adding class names and seeing if you can get the overlay to work for whatever game/program you are running. To get a class name, install GetActiveClass.CAB (attached), and map it to a hardware key with either long press send/end key (settings-personal-buttons) or use AEButtonPlus. Then start your game/program and press the mapped key once it's running. That will display the windows class name (ie "Manila" for manila, "RESCO_EXPLORER_CLASS" for resco explorer, etc.). Then just add a key like
Code:
"OverlayAPClassName3"="Manila"
and see if it works (I can't test since I don't use HTCVolumeControl). If you want to remove it completely, you could try renaming HTCVolumeControl.dll to HTCVolumeControl.dll.bak. That may just give you the WM default volume control.
