storage memory is critically low

I've been getting this error message repeatedly over the last 2 weeks. I only have a couple of applications installed, I don't download attachments, all pictures on internal storage, etc. I tried reflashing the ROM and within a day I was getting this message again. I tried flashing a different ROM and 3 days later, I am getting this message again.

How do I figure out what is causing this? Is there a program like SequoiaView for Windows Mobile so I can figure out where the storage memory is being used?

You could use an app like memmaid or sktools to see where things are and free up memory. ClearTemp is a freeware app that will show and help clear storage memory. Get it at www.mobisapienz.com

Re: storage memory is critically low

I'm no expert, but you can check into this and see if it helps:

Hit the taskbar (top right icon) and tap on the icon of a chip (rightmost) to pull up you memory page. Under Storage/Free you probably have a number less than 1 MB. Whenever this happens on mine everything gets unstable and slow. To fix it I go into SMS messages/tools and execute either Empty Deleted Items or Clear "Text Messages" or do both. You also free space by going into your email accounts and clearing them out. ie. Delete most or all of your messages, then Tools/Empty Deleted Items. Then if you look at your FREE memory you should have made several meg available. I think you can clear your call history as well but these two things always do the trick for me.

HTH!

Re: storage memory is critically low

Thank you both. I used memmaid to figure out that I had 25MB in my /Windows/Messaging folder, which didn't make sense. Turns out that my phone has over a year's worth of emails from my Yahoo account. Don't know why, as it is set to only store the past 30 days. But at least I'm on the right path to figure this out.
