Thanks, after playing with the MMS on the diamond stock ROM, I guess it wasn't that far off anyway. I was hoping there was a version of arcsoft that automaticly zoomed in on incoming pics( thought there was a version for VGA) II hadd 5.2.1.22 now IM going to try the 5.0569.44 and note the diff.
Back on topic:flashed to HTC official Alltel Diamond rom 2.00.671.5, then put nrg back on and all is well. This changed the Radio version, don't know if that did it or not.

Re: HELP!!! GPS software causing reboot and/or freezing

This is weird, I thought it was my phone but it seems like I'm not the only one...
I'm with Telus, INTx 2.5 rom (wm6.1) for about 2 month now. GPS/tomtom/gmaps always worked fine until I tried yesterday, it was crashing in tomtom or it was saying "No gps device", after a fresh reboot I could get a lock in gmaps but the point would not move(I was in a car).
One thing I noticed, I tried disabling location services in the phone app settings, and even if I chose the "off" bullet and pressed ok, it would stay on the "on" bullet...
p.s. I didn't install anything new, no cab, nothing.

Re: HELP!!! GPS software causing reboot and/or freezing

FINALLY I fixed it !!!

The stupid xtra.bin file is in TWO places. You must replace BOTH.

\Windows\xtra.bin
\Temp\xtra.bin

Replace it in BOTH directories and soft reset.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...0&postcount=59

P.S. One other thing I did is I made sure the file had a current date on it. Since some stuff is date sensitive. But I'm not sure that mattered.

You don't, for the moment you run unassisted. It will take longer too lock but it will work the same once it locks.

Hopefully the problem will sort itself out.

You can try it and QuickGPS and if it crashes again then put the old files back again.

I'm gonna sit tight for bit, I'm happy it works, I'm lost without it.

Re: HELP!!! GPS software causing reboot and/or freezing

Why you guys must use QuickGPS? I always think it is awkward. Just follow the sticky thread you see on top of this forum to set up the gpsOne. A note: use the registry that matches the QPST, regardless which phone or service you have. E.g., I use a Sprint phone on Verizon, I use Telus's gpsOne server settings in QPST and thus run the Telus registry cab file. Works like a charm here for a year now on several phones (xv6900, 6800, TP and Diamond). I ran into this problem because I flashed recently Sprint ROM to my Diamond. Now I flashed to Alltel ROM and went back to gpsOne, everything is back to normal.

My phone was set exactly as the sticky shows fresh from the factory. QuickGPS gives you faster locks, it's not required. For grins I used the thread you mentioned for configuring gps and tried shutting everything off and gps still worked exactly the same.
