Re: Can't copy manila files anymore
I use Vista and it works for me, so I dont think it is that.
Only thing I can think of is, did you remove the "hidden", "read only" and "system" attributes with Total Commander before trying to over write the files?

Re: Can't copy manila files anymore
Thanks for your reply. yeah I removed the Read-Only attributes from those files before trying this, but it doesn't seem to work. Removing those attributes doesn't "stick". It'll look like it's unchecked but next time I look at it, it's checked again so it basically stays Read-Only.
I'm unsure of what else to try at this point.. |

Re: Can't copy manila files anymore
Well guess what? It was Vista. Went back to my old XP machine and used ActiveSync and it worked just fine. Of course now the files i replaced weren't all good so i have other issues to deal with, but that's another matter.

Re: Can't copy manila files anymore
Does anyone have any insight into why Vista won't let me delete/overwrite these protected manila files while XP does? Thanks.

Re: Can't copy manila files anymore
UAC or just create a shortcut to File Explorer or Windows Explorer on the Desktop and right click Run as Administrator.

Re: Can't copy manila files anymore
I have UAC turned off and I'm logged in as an Administrator already. Even so, I ran Windows Explorer as Administrator explicitly and still ran in to the same issue. I appreciate the thought though!
