Manilla 2.6 with HTC Sense UI

heyy guys,
im a little confused. We have the leo rom that has all the cool stuff on it. Other devices are running this rom fine, why hasnt anyone started to port 2.6 over to VGA yet?

2.1 is being ported over, and 2.5 started to get ported over, whats the hold up for 2.6?

I have a cdma diamond and was hoping to switch back to tf3d on my wm6.5.1

Has anyone started progress yet on this? I'm not looking for a rom, im just looking for the packages so i can create my own rom.

Thanks guys

Porting for manila 2.6 is not being ported over simply because 2.5 is deep in its porting progress. once 2.5 is fully ported, who knows, 2.6 may be next

You CAN NOT run 2.6 on our phones. The Touch Pro, Diamond, Touch Pro2, Diamond2, etc. cannot run 2.6.

He probably means it is for Android. But who knows? Someone may write one for WM.

2.6 was made for a phone with a different processor from what I read awhile ago. The current qualcom based phones like our diamonds cannot read the graphics format of manila 2.6 (ie manila 2.6 does not use .qtc image format). conflipper has posted info on this at xda, so you can search there or just take this for what it's worth.

bottom line...

2.6 = latest manila for OMAP Processors (or whatever the name is.....)

2.5 = EXACTLY the same as 2.6 but for qualcomm processors

.........................................2.5 is being ported, but IMO its best to get a WVGA device to enjoy it to its full potential. 2.5 really takes advantage of a WVGA screens so it will be too cramped or some parts too hard to get it to function perfectly on a VGA screen

Having looked at both, I would agree with mike20pr, the 2.5 version is not going to be the best option for VGA devices. I have a feeling we've topped out at 2.1 guys...

honestly...i really dont care about 2.5 or 2.6...my biggest issue is just that i really like the HTC Sense...what i mean by that is i like how the weather is on the clock...and that it animates the entire home screen...thats really all i want.

Well I know they have a cab for the clock from sense that works on the diamond. I havent seen a cab for the full screen weather animation but I'm sure it wont be long.
