When sliding to "ANSWER" phone will not answer calls

When I slide the slider to ANSWER when I'm getting a call, the phone just up and stopped answering calls. What happens is it just sits there and keeps showing that it's ringing with the LEDs flashing but it doesn't answer. This has screwed of 8 calls now and restarting hasn't fixed it at all. I've had the problem for a few days now.

This all happened after I went and changed some options. Another thing that happens is the alarm doesn't show a notification to Dismiss anymore like it used to. Maybe the two are related. I went back and changed the settings to what they were (I think) but apparently missed some or the phone is unrepairable by this point. If anyone had some insight, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Which ROM are you on? A hard reset would fix it.

RTSC.

I dunno how to hard reset.

Re: When sliding to "ANSWER" phone will not answer calls

You can do a hard reset by choosing the Clear Storage from the settings menu. Keep in mind that this will erase all your data (calendar, phone book, email, etc), and you will have to reinstall apps.

No, that I don't like, haha. It accepted the last two calls, but kinda freezes on that screen. I wonder why.

Re: When sliding to "ANSWER" phone will not answer calls

But I didn't change anything like that, haha. Just went into those config utilities. You might have a point but I doubt that's it. Plus, I've been trying to change it back to OldRinger2 but I can't because this version of RTSC took out the ability for me to choose that as a ringer even though it's still on the phone.

Ok guys and gals, you're right. Let's find me a new ROM for this guy. This phone feels like it's dying in my hands.

All I want is PAM (but the data plan way), ability to see calls, text back (using T9 keys), ability to make calls, and get e-mail from 3 accounts as well as use Active Sync for contacts/calendar. Programs I have installed right now are Opera Mobile (I'd prefer Mini) and Skype. I also play music off of the phone which is the thing I use the most, second is PAM. That's it; that's all I need.

What's the best ROM for that, something that'll hopefully be extremely fast.

MightyROM is just a barebones ROM that you install whatever you what via cabs and is perfect for what you want.

Re: When sliding to "ANSWER" phone will not answer calls

I used Mighty ROM for a while, but it didn't really work well for me for some reason. I'm also on the one w/o the physical keyboard. I should also note I'm on Sprint. That changes things a bit. And Google Maps. That's the last program.

What are gadgetrom and intx?

Gadgetrom is a 6.5 with some really awesome features. It is really stable and one of the fastest 6.5 roms i've flashed yet. INTX is a 6.1 rom with all the latest features. Mega-stable and super fast. I am yet to find a single bug on INTX.

What are the plusses minuses? Will both work in my touch-only diamond?

There is no such thing as a diamond that isn't touch only. 6.5 is a little slower. 6.1 isn't as advanced in terms of finger scrolling and menus. BTW--any rom that says Diamond, Diam500, or victor in its name or thread works on your phone. If it had a keyboard, it would be a touch pro.

What is wrong with MightyROM exactly?

The fact that I didn't like it. I don't remember, but it was a whole lot of hassle. The fact that I had to exchange my phone 5 times (and might again if I find out it's not the ROM, and it's a hardware issue) didn't help.

What?

Re: When sliding to "ANSWER" phone will not answer calls

Well this is dandy. How do I change the ROM if it won't active sync any longer? Is it something on my PC or the phone? It's been doing this for a while where the mobile device center doesn't show the phone.

Go to your settings and then connections tab.Select usb to pc and de-select the check UNDER activesync, hit ok and that will fix it

I dont know man, I was hungry or something when I typed that.

Re: When sliding to "ANSWER" phone will not answer calls

I did it, no fix. I'm gonna try now on my netbook. It might be an internal issue in Windows. If so, anyone know what? It said the user on my netbook was authenticated. Maybe the user on my main rig wasn't authenticated randomly one day?

Time to try out Gadget ROM. I'd like it best if there was some way to use a program that has a bunch of cabs you can install using a checkbox which updates itself (maybe) and allows you to install a ROM with just that software in it and possibly some features. I was also using SPB Shell or whatever that thing is.

Great... Where's my T9 Keyboard in this Gadget ROM thing? I like to type w/ my thumb or the stylus, but I use T9 because I only have one hand and having 9 keys is better than 26+.

Not all the roms come with all the keyboards.

Re: When sliding to "ANSWER" phone will not answer calls

Is it installable with this FingerKeyboard2? It had an HTC xT9 thing in the settings. I thought it'd be there. Is there a way to get it or do I have to just go ahead and get another ROM?
