Profiles for Windows Mobile - a must have

I upgraded to Diamond from smartphones (Dash, Q), one big thing missing is profiles. With profiles, I can easily select between, say, Normal, Mute, Loud and Vibrate, etc.

I was very surprised and disappointed that there is no such a thing on Diamond and other professional WM phones!

Profiles for Windows Mobile comes to rescue:

Yeah it is quite old, but it does work on my Diamond. It crashed initially, but after a soft reset, it has been working very fine, no problem at all.

You can use it to turn on/off radios as well, even run any program.

If you need to select profiles automatically based on your appointment schedule, then you need the PhoneAlarm. For me, I don't need that and I always prefer as simple as possible, so I chose PWM - only about 100KB.

The diamond lets you choose silent, vibrate and your volume level very easily when you press the volume button on the side

i never like profiles on motorola phones. it took too long to set stuff up because you had to set every txt tone, mms tone, voice mail tone. i like how on every other phone you just turn the volume down and thats all that changes.

I know about the volume button, but that's too much clicks each and every time.

If I can click on the silent button again to un-mute, no need to go through system volume and then ring volume, then no need for PWM.

With PWM, it is always just two clicks.

If three presses of the down volume key takes up too much time in your life, it is time to reevaluate.

It's more than 3 clicks: press volume, click system, press vol up or click on bars multiple times to top the bars, click on ring, press vol up or click on bars multiple times to top the bars... then wait for 2 seconds or so for the control panel to disappear.

Man ... it seems like over the last few days, every time you post, it's to bash the Diamond. Most of us here, recognize that no phone is going to be perfect ... but by in large, we're pretty happy with the device. Maybe you could lighten up just a bit with all the silly stuff. A "must have" ... this is not.

Just push the volume button and you can touch if you want it silent or vibrate or hold it down to turn the volume up all the way.

You push the volume on the side once, then tap the screen on what you want once (vibrate, silent, volume level), and there you go, two clicks
