Can I use alltel Diamond on Verizon?
 

So I have been using my Verizon XV6900 for awhile now, however, after a few drops and dips in the pool, its not exactly running like it used to. I think I have decided I would like to go Diamond or Touch Pro. I do not have a contract so I would like to make my purchase on ebay, however, I have noticed there is not a good selection of Verizon Diamonds. Would it be possible to purchase one of the many Alltel Diamonds and activate it on Verizon?

I tried searching but I seem to find a lot of conflicting answers and it seems I need an answer that is time relevant as Verizon's policies change.

Yea, I figured they are allowing people who were on Alltel still use their Alltel equipment, but I wonder if they will allow a Verizon customer activate Alltel equipment.

You should. Verizon has access to Alltel's ESN database assuming of course it was a phone bought in a Verizon takeover area but it should work fine.

the word is alltel+verizon devices on alltel plans and only verizon devices on a verizon plan, if you have legacy alltel plan you should be able to change to it, but your data features might be reset, if you have verizon plan could see what happens if you say its unbranded and manual correct the data settings

It should work with just Alltel settings and converting it to Verizon settings won't be too hard.

let me restate this so there isn't confussion

two issues here

data system phone connects threw
getting the esn changed

yes the data settings can be edit to match

if you have verizon plan like i'm assuming from your post of previous having verizon phones, then the esn change it self will get kicked out,
so unless your gonna get someone to risk there job forcing the change, or lying about being unbranded and hope for best, or clone the esn of your XV6900, or get it overridden somehow, i wouldn't pay much to try this out thou if you can get one cheap then give it a try :)

See the thing is they will have Alltel ESNs in their database so in theory it should work. It's not like a Sprint phone.

the esn is in there database but it is not flagged as verizon phone and if its added to plan thats not alltel plan, then the change is stopped

you can try and make esn change with my verizon online and it will kick out an error msg stopping it
