Couple questions

Ok, so I asked a couple times in Calkulins thread about the second question but got no responses, so I thought I would try a larger market.

I used his VK, made a 21857 6.5 ROM and it has the two soft keys for phone on the screen. Why? and how do I get rid of them.

Secondly, then I thought I don't like that and tried 21857 but choosing 6.5.1. I believe 21857 is for 6.5 but I thought what the heck, what could go wrong. So far one thing. I cant add members to email or messaging groups. I open contacts, click new, put in the name of the group then click to add members and nothing happens. It worked when I used NRG's Titanium, so I know it works, it just wont work for me with Calks VK. I have tried all builds. Thats my only problem, everything else is great.

Any thoughts?

For the softkeys, you can change them using diamondtweak or advancedconfig (I think anyway) or edit the registry using the keys below (assuming you're using manila):
Code:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila]
"HomeLSKPath"="\\Program Files\\SecondToday\\SecondToday.exe"
"HomeLSKText"="Weather"
"IsWM6.5"=dword:00000001
"HTCScroll.Enable"=dword:00000001
"HomeRSKArguments"=""
"HomeRSKPath"=""
"HomeRSKText"=""
"HomeLSKArguments"=""
This is what I use to set my leftsoftkey to Weather which opens SecondToday for WeatherPanel. HomeLSKPath is the path to the program you want to open when you push the left softkey. HomeLSKText is the name that will be displayed for the left softkey. RSK ones are for right softkey . If you want to cook these into your ROM, just make a new folder called zzTREmp77 - Tweaks in the common EXT folder. Then copy your the text in the code box (with your settings) into a text document and save it as app.reg (no .txt extension). Then put that inside of your Tweaks folder. You may need to have an empty folder inside of your tweaks folder named 'files' for it to work. I put it in mine, but haven't tested it without it to see if it is still read by my kitchen.

For your second question, I don't think I'd use 6.5.1 packages with 21857. Calkulin separates them based on compatibility I'm sure.

Re: Couple questions

I appreciate the response, but I didn't mean those soft keys. I guess I was too vague in my question, I apologize for that.
What I am getting with 21857 and 6.5 is on the screen, a green phone icon on the left and a red one on the right, when pressed bring up the dialer screen. I dont get those soft keys when I use the same build plus 6.5.1, but like you said, Calk prob separates for compatibility issues.
I should prob leave well enough alone, battery life is fantastic (well for this phone) and it hasnt bogged down once. It retains it's snappiness.
Now if I could get the email groups to work, I think I'd be set.
Oh and now that Midomi is fixed with menu working, I need to get that into the kitchen.

Oh, that's easy. Don't select 'System - Send End Softkeys' in the 6.5 EXT packages in the kitchen. If you want to get rid of them without re-cooking, try just deleting the whole SendEnd key in the registry:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\SendEnd]
"SoftkeyEnabled"=dword:00000001
"KeyBitmap"="\\Windows\\SendEndKey.bmp"
