Re: why do i keep losing my batt icon...

Not sure if this is what you need. But in some newer roms when the battery icon in the taskbar goes MIA, follow the two steps below and soft reset, and your battery should forever stay in the taskbar. Hope this is helpful.

Use registry editor
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Taskbar
ConsistentClockOrBattery set to DWORD 1

in settings menu i believe
uncheck "Display the clock on the title bar in all programs" the battery should now consistently shows up

Re: why do i keep losing my batt icon...

If it's defaulting back to the original, you must be adding something that overwrites the dll containing the custom icons. Also check that your registry contains the following:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\ResOver\Bitmaps]
"BaseDll"="phcanOverbmp.dll"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\ResOver\Bitmaps]
"BaseId"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\ResOver\Bitmaps]
"BatteryIconIdStart"=dword:000003e9
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\ResOver\Bitmaps]
"BatteryIconLevels"=dword:00000065
Are you installing any custom taskbars? phcanoverbmp.dll contains the battery icons and the volume icons are either in htcvolumecontrol.dll or shellres.192.dll or shellres.192.dll.0409.mui (calk's).

the only thing i had loaded onto the phone was NSContacts, my dcd carrier cab, removed arcsoft, and loaded the alltel arcsoft....

i reloaded the ROM again last night, so far i havent loaded anything else on the phone and i still have the icons... ill wait a little while longer then start loading things one at a time with a few hours in between...
once again, thanx for the help

(btw cant check the reg now, would have to load a reg editor)

Also, make sure you follow the tried-and-true flashing method:

1. Flash Stock
2. Hard Reset
3. Flash Custom
4. Hard Reset
5. Enjoy!
