Unlocking/New ROM Issues

I am quite new here and at hacking and customizing my phone.

I read all the threads here, how to unlock and flash, but every time I try to do anything, I get the TRICOLOR screen, my phone disconnects from the computer, and the flash or unlock looses connection and nothing worked, gives connection error. I reset my phone and it was how it was before, nothing done.

Whats going on? It's like the phone won't reconnect to the pc once on the TRICOLOR screen.

Ideas, suggestions?

Look here:

You must unlock first before you can flash.
The tricolor screen is bootloader mode.

Re: Unlocking/New ROM Issues

Yes I read that, as I said.

When I do the unlock, once I get the tricolor screen, thats it. My phone does not reboot, and looses connection with my PC, and the unlock fails.

Re: Unlocking/New ROM Issues

Well I just checked and I don't have framework 3.5 installed, would that make a difference?

Re: Unlocking/New ROM Issues

Well it made no difference.

Could it be because I am on Windows 7?

Re: Unlocking/New ROM Issues

I would do this:

1. Turn off phone
2. Hold the Vol Down button and then press and hold power button
3. Phone should go to bootloader and say "Serial" at the bottom
4. Plug into PC
5. Phone status should change to say USB
6. Assuming the phone stays in USB, run the unlocker

-If it does not - make sure you have installed WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center).
-Try running the CD that came w/ the phone as the drivers may not be working/installed
-Try a different PC if you can - could be a Win 7 issue (although there haven't been any major issues that I've seen people mention)
-If it does the same thing on another PC, you may want to try a different USB cable
-If you try a different PC and cable and it's still not working...you may have a bad phone
