Any good manilla -less ROM. It drains my battery :(

I used to use calck's rom for a long time and it was my favorite, however if he is moving on, I should probably do the same. Not to mention he now includes manilla in his rom. I like manilla however it just drains my battery probably 2x as fast as without it.

Hey Dave, just so you know this is posted in the wrong section but that's ok. If you have a general diamond question, put it in the diamond section rather than the upgrade section. Regarding your question, I can assure you that touchflo doesn't cause your battery to drain twice as fast. In fact, if you install a battery monitor you will see that it drains on average about the same as a rom without touchflo. But if you are looking to install a rom without touchflo, I would recommend downloading a kitchen from Calcu or SSK or one of the others available here. then you can uncheck touchflo in build os and have a manilla free rom. I will tell you that it doesn't take much ramp up time to learn how to use a kitchen and you will be happy once you do. That way you can pick what programs are installed on your rom, it allows you the flexibility to create a custom rom of your choice. Also, if you have questions, people will help you in the rom threads. good luck.

edit: also, I agree with capthr. If you are using 6.5 roms, then Energy rom is a great selection as is da_reeseboy rom, and many others that don't include touchflo. Energyrom has 3 releases, one of which is titanium only.

I usually make 3 versions of this ROM. If you don't see one in the download directory, it either means I haven't uploaded it OR I'm not making one for the current release yet.

  • "Titanium" only includes the Titanium today plugin. No Manila in this version. This also includes the regular HTC dialer

Does manila really take that large of a toll on battery life?
