Battery life ROM performance

There seem to be a million threads about "best ROM" and many of them have some mention of battery life performance; however, I haven't seen any direct comparison of various (stable) ROMs for best battery life.

Does anyone know if there has been such a test that compared a bunch of ROMs specifically for battery life?
And, after all, which ROMs are the better ones when it comes to conserving juice?

Re: Battery life ROM performance

That is a tough comparison due to the fact that most peoples usage varies day to day. That's why most people will give you the answer "try them and see what's best for you."
I can tell you that personally MightyROM 3.9 gives me the best battery performance. Battery life is the most important thing to me and this is what I look for first. I also use HTC Home and not TF3D to keep the RAM usage to a minimal.

Re: Battery life ROM performance

Yeah, battery life is most important to me to, that's why I ask.

I'm just about ready to try all the ROMs I can get my hands on, but wanted to check with the seasoned veterans first.

I use the HTC home as well. Any suggestions on customizing it?

Re: Battery life ROM performance

Thanks for link.

I was hoping that there was a way to customize the Today screen without installing an extra shell in hopes of conserving as much power as possible.

Re: Battery life ROM performance

I use the HTC Home program with Mighty ROM 3.9 and my task manager shows 27% at boot up. You're not gonna get much better than that. Very light on resources. I get a full day on a battery easy. My phone has been off the charger now for just under 14 hours and I have 43% battery left. This is with lots of texting, some internet, and prob 4 phone calls today...that said, I would def recommend getting a second battery. They are cheap enough and certainly useful.

Tried a bunch of roms (all great I might add), personally I get the best performance with mighty4 Final.

Re: Battery life ROM performance

Thanks for the advice.
Looks like my ROM search is going to start with Mighty!

Now I just need to figure out a way to put it on my phone.
I'm guessing flashing the new ROM will delete all contacts and such, correct?

Re: Battery life ROM performance

This question might be misplaced, but do I need to unlock my phone before flashing a new ROM?
