Re: HTC Diamond LCD & Digitizer Disassembly & Assembly/ Parts & Repair

Hi there

I checked the links above and some of them were helpfull,
but I still cannot find the solution for my issue: My digitizer is broken so I ordered new one.
I ordered it without LCD display cause works fine.
I disassebled my Diamond following video manual, but I don't know how to separate old digitizer from LCD screen. It seems they are glued together. I am unable to find any manual or video for it.

I think that the best solution is order LCD with digitizer, but I didn't know it before

If somebody knows how to separate them, please share your knowlege..

Cheers

Re: HTC Diamond LCD & Digitizer Disassembly & Assembly/ Parts & Repair

That's why it was suggested to buy the Assembly. The Digitizer and LCD as one assembly. You may as well do that now, as separating the two will be a real pain, and you will most likely damage the LCD screen anyway.
Btw, where did you purchase the Digitizer from?

Re: HTC Diamond LCD & Digitizer Disassembly & Assembly/ Parts & Repair

The problem with these manuals is the fact that they are for GSM Touch diamonds.

I have yet to find a CDMA diamond service manual. I can get halfway through it by myself without looking at a manual but I can't get any further since there seems to be no way to pull anything else out.

Does anyone know where there are instructions to disassemble a cdma diamond?

Re: HTC Diamond LCD & Digitizer Disassembly & Assembly/ Parts & Repair

Actually I broke 2 LCD displays when trying to separe them from the digitizer,1 Touch Pro and 1 Diamond, they both use the same LCD with same connectors, the LCD and digitizer are pressed and hard vacuum glued together, they can't be separated,so:

My advice is Buy only LCD & Digitizer together in 1 assembly!!!

That's what I did after I realized that the lcd and digitizer were glued together. Other than that I replaced the whole lcd and digitizer and my diamond has been working great now.!

I bought it off ebay from Hong Kong, and it cost about $35.

If it's not too much trouble, could you please post a link to the LCD+digitizer that you bought on eBay? My display bit the dust, and I'd like to make sure I buy the correct replacement part. I have a Sprint CDMA Diamond, as well.

Thanks!

Here is the one I purchased. It seems they don't sell it anymore.

Edit:
This looks like it will work. This should work also (US seller).
