Sprint version of Touch Diamond/Pro on VZW?

My FIL is currently a vzw customer and is interested in getting a Touch Diamond or Pro phone (he has an old flip phone). He doesn't want to sign a new contract so he'd rather get it on eBay or otherwise, but wanted to know if getting a Sprint labeled phone would be a problem.

I know that the custom ROMs on here are not carrier specific, but can a Sprint branded phone cross over to VZW? The radio's are likely different and I'm wondering if VZW would notice a problem with the ESN.

If you get lucky and get a rep to activate the ESN.

Yea, this was my main concern. If the ESN doesn't match up they can simply tell you to forget about it.

Probably not worth the risk, I assume.
