phone shows water damage, but never came close to water

I don't get it, I took my cover off my phone and it now shows red on the litmus paper. My phone works fine, just worried if something happens Sprint will look at my phone and say it has water damage and assume its my fault.

how could this even happen? and is there a way to cover it up so it looks like I never "had" water damage?

they show red when seal is good, post a screenshot, ill bet its ok.

Is it extremely humid in your area? I never had one turn w/o dirct water contact. did you maybe touch it or something?

they switched from what they used to be, i almost crapped when i saw the diamond was red. lol

Theres a round green sticker under the battery on the phone that will turn red if theres water damage.
My buddie at work dropped his in water and the red criss-cross stickers still look the same but the round one turned from green to red

so what color does the red go to then when its water damaged, I always thought they went from White to red.

On his there is 2 little rectangle plastic feeling stickers, 1 on the battery and one on the phone, that have the red criss-cross patern on them. and they didnt change at all when it got wet.
So im not sure if they're moisture indicators or not??
