Tethering / WMWifi and windows live messenger

I'm having a problem with windows live messenger.

when I am using windows mobile wifi router or when I am using internet connection sharing (tethering) I can't seam to sign into live messenger on the computer I am using with the phone's internet connection. I am guessing because the phone has reserved the port for this, as it also has this feature.

Anyone know how to unlock the port on our phones?

Or know another reason why this may be the case?

Hmm. There isn't much I can suggest as it's something at the carrier level. I assume you probably aren't paying for tethering because it's extra and you can get away with it because you have an unlimited data plan. About the only thing you could do is try to find a proxy that you could route traffic through port 80.
