How do I set the stock 6.5 screen lock to enable when the screen is turned off?SOLVED

I've searched the forums and google and cannot find an answer to this question.

Is there a way to set the stock windows mobile 6.5 screen lock to enable when the screen is turned off using the power button? Can it be set to lock when the screen automatically turns off also?

The stock screen lock appears to be good for me. I don't want a third party app. I used to use Lockmelite and it was good on 6.1. I shouldn't need a 3rd party app to accomplish this if it is built-in in 6.5.

devicelock or smartlock should do the trick

i have found smartlock to be a little more reliable in the short time i have used it

Both look like good apps. I am really looking to use the stock wm 6.5 screen lock. I just want it to lock when the screen shuts off. I wasn't sure if there was a registry hack to make it happen.

no reg edits that i'm aware of, give smartlock a try. it doesn't take much space and seems to work pretty well

There is a reg edit actually.
But it only works when you press power button to put it into standby mode.
if you'd like it, let me know,
I'll add it to my faq and make a cab.
(i know my faq is for qvga,
but that reg hack is 100% compatible with
all resolutions running windows mobile 6.5)

The wm6.5 S2A only works when device is in lock mode.
To make device auto-lock when pressing the power button, see here:

Thank you for the help. I found the answer in the thread above. It took me to this site: http://thewingster.com/autolockscreen.aspx. The AutoLock Screen program works really well. After downloading the file and installing it. It puts a "Smart Lock" icon in Settings - System - Smart Lock.

Config Options are:

* WM6.5 new lock
Boot lock
Dim lock
Suspend after lock
* Suspend lock
Incall lock
Outcall lock
Outcall connected lock

* I am using the 1st and 5th option.

This allows the 6.5 screen lock to come on automatically when the screen times out or if I push the power button to turn it off. Now I don't need a third party solution to lock the screen. Very nice. =D>

glad to hear you're pleased w/smartlock, like i said it seems to be alot more reliable than devicelock (1.2 i think was the last version i used)
