Problems with custom rom flashing

Hi, I have an early Telus Diamond (Activated August 17,200 and I'm having several troubles flashing alot of the custom roms offered here on PPCGeeks.

The flashing process goes all the way without any troubles (either flashing from internal storage or via the PC). After that it gets a little messy... Sometimes my phone will hang during Device customization (after calibrating the screen), sometimes it hangs and the bootscreen where the rom and radio version are shown. Sometimes the customization goes all the way, the phone boots completely but a soft reset acts like a Hard reset after that. I'm a very patient person so don't go thinking I just reset the phone too quickly before it finnishes the device customization process.

I tried all the usual stuff like flashing a stock rom before flashing another custom rom and clear storage via the settings menu or via the key combinaison but none of these seems to work.

Flashing the stock telus rom always works 100%

Help me please. I can't try those wonderful roms all the chefs cook in here...

Usually after doing these steps in this order gets me even bigger problems. Most of the times I am able to flash a custom rom and boot it completely for the first time but after doing the clear storage via the settings I get all kinds of freezing problems as described in first post.

Re: Problems with custom rom flashing

Just a quick question ... Did you first UNLOCK the phone before flashing ... you did not mention that in your description. Most of the Custome ROMs require the phone to be unlocked
