Sprint Diamond keeps waking up
 

Hello all,

Have a sprint diamond that is 9 days old. Having a problem that can't figure out. All apps and back ground procees are turned off. Also roaming set up is on auto.

Here is my issue, the thing will keeps waking up every so often indiscriminately. Plug in and not plugged in.

Any ideas? I think i have a lemon.

I think it had something to do with the phone dropping the data connection from EVDO to 1x, and back.

have you tried changing its diaper? maybe nurse it back to sleep?

no. this is common across all wm devices.

yes, switching between evdo and 1x has been known to do this, as well as the network timesync, or any any app that periodically checks the internet for updates (ie weather)

Try changing the roaming from auto to sprint only. If that doesnt work, i recommend backing up ur data and trying a hard reset.

I'm also having this issue. Switching to 1x did not resolve it. My phone continues to wake up all the time. I tried (as suggested above) killing auto apps, like weather, email, and synching contacts. I also set to sprint only. Still, frequently (several times per hour) it wakes up for no reason. what else could I be missing?

I had this problem as well with the stock sprint rom, running Mighty now, and it doesn't seem to be much better, although now the problem is mostly in areas with bad reception kill the battery by pinging the tower as well as screen lighting up.

If you're in a poor reception area, you could try forcing roam-only in settings > phone > network service. If the roaming partner has a stronger signal in your area this may help but you won't get EV data while roaming.

I have the same issue with my Sprint Diamond waking up, especially when I'm traveling around... so I always keep it locked to avoid pocket dialing and such. A locking program like S2U2 can auto-lock the device when you turn off the back light.
