So I have a dilemma
I have an HTC touch diamond, and am on the sprint network. I am thinking about dropping out of my contract with sprint, however, and going to verizon. Will i still be able to use my sprint htc touch on the verizon network? It is already unlocked and running juicy's rom. :/
Also, will sprint know i am using it on another network? does that even matter? |
Re: So I have a dilemma
From the things ive read unless your phone is on a list verizon has of other network supported devices then no.

I thought part of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act required phones to be able to be activated on other networks |
Re: So I have a dilemma
Well unfortunatly verizon always finds a way to be less then helpful.

I did some research and it is definitely legal to break locking measures on phones that lock them to 1 carrier (at least until the copyright office revises the DMCA exemptions this summer.) I would try calling Verizon tech support and asking to speak to a manager. Explain that it is the law and then threaten to sue if they do not activate your phone. Clearly it is possible as it used to work without issue. for more info start here:http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2064707,00.asp |
Re: So I have a dilemma
it doesn't matter when i first got my diamond i was on Verizon as long as you follow the right steps it will work it took me awhile to get data working .i dont know were others i getting there info but from my personal experience you will have success so good luck make sure you delete you HA & AAA keys in epst so your data will work

Re: So I have a dilemma
wow, I appreciate the help guys. seems like this is going to be a bit more difficult than simply unlocking the phone and calling up verizon to activate it, though.
Am i correct on this? Also, is the above link actually going to work or no? If no, can anyone offer me some key search phrases or links? Thanks fellas. |
