Battery Issues...(MOVED FROM UPGRADES)

Ok guys so I just got my Sprint HTC Touch Diamond...I flashed to mighty rom 4/R3B0RN and I must say that for me the battery life is terrible....I get 4-6 hours of light usage (checking time and the occasional usage) TOPS. I turned off bluetooth and all the unneccesary junk that I know takes up battery life.....help? I'm a newbie and I know it....but at some point we're all noobs I believe....so any input (personal stories of fixes; tips, etc.) would be very helpful....

Ok I can think of a couple things that will instantly help:

1) Go to HKCU/Software/HTC/Bootloader (something like that in the Registry) and delete the Opera reference.
2) Disable Voice Command totally.
3) Turn off the automatic screen brightness and do it manually.

Those should help.

How does #2 help with battery life?

Same thing happened to me when i first got my diamond,

Reflash the mightyrom, and then make sure you hard reset before you get to the calibration screen. (vol down, power, action button, and soft reset button under the cover)

Worked for me the first time i flashed, and all is well now whenever i flash.

You can probably last all day. As far as disabling VC, I've found that if you don't use it it uses less CPU time therefore less battery.

Re: Battery Issues...(MOVED FROM UPGRADES)

Ok guys, so I :

1. Re flashed rom (R3B0RN)
2. Did a hard reset
3. Deleted opera reference in registry
4. Turned off Voice command
5. Turned off auto-adjusting brightness.

I took it off the charger at about 6 A.M. and here I am at noon....the battery is at about 50-55%...... is that normal? I've seen reports of it lasting like over a full day with the kind of usage im doing...

What ROM is the best for extreme battery life?

Thanks guys!

Re: Battery Issues...(MOVED FROM UPGRADES)

What kind of reception do you get where you are? If your signal is cutting in and out, you're going to lose a lot of battery life while it searches for a signal. I work in a basement, and my battery life sucks.

Re: Battery Issues...(MOVED FROM UPGRADES)

Where I use it, I have a constant 2-3 bars....at home my reception sucks but I have a charger there......but that's a good idea and is really something to factor in to the situation.
