Disable device wake on SMS

Alright, so it's apparently a known issue. I just read a couple of threads from months ago in which it's mentioned that there is a known registry key to disable waking on receipt of a new text message, but the key doesn't actually work.

I am aware that S2U2 can be used to prevent accidental texting or other screen input if I receive a text in my pocket and don't feel/hear it.

Is there any way of which I'm unaware that can be used to keep the damn phone from waking up when someone texts me?

s2u2 is really the only fix ive found. i dont really like it, but resigned myself to using it and have been pleasantly surprised after hating it a year or so ago

I would use a lock on the screen. There are several screen locking apps and there was even a thread on it I believe.

Re: Disable device wake on SMS

I was thinking the same thing bout advance config.. I think there is an option in diamond tweak too. Or you can use PocketShield.. PocketShield is another device screen locking program made for the diamond, so you dont accidentaly call sum1 or answer calls. Theres different settings to turn off screen if it wakes, disable hw keys, gestures, slider and theres sum pretty sweet skins for it too which you can get in cab form.

These options/regedits are confirmed to not work on Sprint Diamonds (and a few other cdma varieties.) No idea why that is, but it is something Sprint CDMA users have learned to live with. The phone has a built in lock app so you don't need to download anything you just need to lock it.

ARGH! is this true?! Just for Sprint? So it's a Sprint network issue and not software related? I CAN'T STAND IT waking up everytime there's a new message.

Re: Disable device wake on SMS

confirmed for alltel too. i cant get any of the regedits to work. how do you get the lock program to lock automatically? the only way i found to get it to work is to enable it for longpress endkey but i use that to set my ringer from vib to ring. +1 for pocketshield. i been using it for so long. its so nice and light. i went back to s2u2 and it just seems so heavy.
