First battery Charge gone WROng?

Hello :

I got my Diamond from Assurion, and upon following the quick start instructions I noticed it recommended that you charge the phone for 12 hours I believe. That sounds crazy within itself, but what do I know about conditioning a battery.

The issue comes up with the fact that after 12 hours the little ring won't stop flashing. It won't move to a solid state, indicating a full charge.

Should I be concerned ???, I spoke to HTC, they said try and get it swapped at a Sprint store, Assurion was like play with the phone for a week or so, if it doesn't hold the charge, call back they'll swap it. & sprint was like F-U, and laughed at me.

Input, please.

Thx

the phone doesn't know what full is until it knows what empty is. let it die, then charge fully.

Go to No2chem's site and download Nuebattery for the Diamond, a great app that you can see what's going on, it shows battery use and charging strength and lots of other good info. Awesome little app

It also installs a fastcharge driver, it will definitely charge that sucker complete...fast it will make that ring stay solid I bet.

Re: First battery Charge gone WROng?

Yeah your phone is just running a new battery and needs to be broke in. Let it die good today (heavy internet, texting, phone calls, etc.) and then when it finally dies plug it into the wall and let it charge. It will be calibrated then. I would recommend investing time in flashing an aftermarket ROM like MightyROM and reading up on how to unlock it because MR has lots of optimizations to make battery life better.

Try to limit Full charge and Discharge cycles. Lithium Batteries degrade more when they have a full charge, and when they have a low charge. They operate best under a partial charge.

One full cycle should be enough to reset the charge circuit on a smart battery.

Here is a website that outlines prolonging Lithium battery life:

Right but the battery hardware needs calibration.

In my previous post....

The charge circuitry is the "smart" part of the battery that detects the charge levels.
