Take it in and get another phone. That's a warranty issue and they can replace your phone without problem. Just make sure to relock and reflash a stock shipped ROM.

Re: disable touch wheel

(I went back and typed this. Have you tried hard resetting to make sure that it is not a software issue?)

Check with your Sprint Store that has a service center.

If you do not have any type of insurance they probably will not just change it out for you. They will refer you to HTC for a warranty swap through them. However you may be able to do an advanced exchange through their service center. This would not be free and you will get a refurbished unit but it may be worth it to keep from waiting weeks to get a unit back from HTC.

You also might could try setting up insurance. They say that you can't after so many days but sometimes you can. If you can't and you know someone else with a Sprint account you can swap your service to their phone and then back to yours and get insurance set up. Swapping service does not cost anything.
