HOTFIX for Mp3 playback warning

FYI - I downloaded the Hotfix from HTC website to fix the skipping on music playback. Followed directions - this completely froze the phone, cannot hard reset.
Customer Service cannot fix so suggested Assurion to repair, for $60, a HTC download.

Not happy, going to store to see if they will replace free since I didn't do it, caused by HTC.

My advice - don't download.

I can not even install the .exe file. How did u do it for your diamond?

I was experiencing some occasional skipping in my music playback but I wasn't that bothered by it. When I saw the hotifix was available this morning went ahead and installed it. My phone is operating ok, but after a quick test, it looks like I still get some skipping during music playback. There may be some improvement, but it is definitely not eliminated.

I'm not sure if its worth the effort but if you still want to install the file:
Download it to your computer
Copy it to your phone with activesync (I put it in internal storage)
Click on the file using your phone's file explorer to run the program and answer the prompts on your screen.
Phone will soft reset after installation.
