Deleting APPS

i got a couple apps like battery stuff and sensor lock and i found out i dont like them...i deleted them on the file explorer thinking they would go away but the they stayed and their effects are still going...how do i uninstall them completely

hit start/settings/system (middle tab at the bottom)/remove programs
