Re: Wife's Diamond Battery Life Horrible

Just curious, and I wonder why no one has asked this, what is signal strength like in the location she is with the phone all day? Low signal strength, and being in fringe coverage areas, is a death sentence for battery life.

For example, if I am around where I live, I get great coverage, my battery can last through two days. I unplug in the morning, I am not forced to plug back in until the following evening, and that is with light usage and push email.

If I go to my mother-in-laws house, where the coverage is spotty at best, the phone is constantly switching between 1 bar EV Sprint, roaming, and no signal (she literally lives in a dead-zone for CDMA, IDEN, and GSM networks). In that area, my phone lasts about 12 hours on the same charge! It is crazy!

Why donate to one person, when you can support the site that makes it all possible instead

Things to try: Flash MightyROM 4.8, turn off beam, drain the battery a few times, stick it in 1x only if you text a lot.

I bet its the GPS, if I leave mine on I'll get 7-8 hours before I get low battery warnings, even with Mighty Rom 4.8.

GPS was always on in my phone.. If you go to location settings you can see that it is always set to ON.. So I always turn my GPS OFF on all my HTC phones...

the phone does not have a beam on it or infered. i would stop using it for anything expect as a phone, the music player and stereo bluetooth cause battery drain. i have read of a european 3000mha battery from mugen power i think. It might be for the gsm version though.

Odd. Do you text a lot? If so then you might try forcing it to 1x all the time. It does that for me and it works.

It may not have a beam but it darn sure has the option for beam in connections and it is set to receive all incoming beams, so I would turn it off as others have suggested...

Re: Wife's Diamond Battery Life Horrible

My wife had the same problem, i tried different ROM's to no avail, then i found out she was 1.) Leaving her BT on all day, and 2.) She was using O2 Instant Messenger which autostarts and was staying on all day.
