Intermittent Service

Just as of lately when ever I place a call my evdo signal drops out and I am placed into 1x with no bars and call cuts in and out and eventually drops. Same goes for text messages.

I am using mighty 4.8 with sprint radio 1.00.00 a telus network(right now). I have flashed different roms with different radios, all possible combinations with no luck.

I have flashed to stock rom w/ stock radio and I am having simillar problems. I m just wondering if there is a way to "fix" the radio, if that is even the problem.

If anyone has any ideas at all please let me know, I really do not want to downgrade to a touch dual.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Intermittent Service

Calls and text use 1x not EV DO. So the phone changes to 1x any time you send a text or get a call.

I do realize this, but my problem is when it does switch it goes to 1x with zero signal.

Oh my bad. I have no idea about that. Anytime mine switches back and forth it always gets a decent signal.

I don't understand how you can have good EVDO signal but not 1X..?

Re: Intermittent Service

This is also part of my problem.

For example, evdo will be at full bars but a soon as i launch opera or ie it will drop to no bars (it still has some connection though cause i can go on internet, just very slow.)

I am in a major city (edmonton, ab) and have never had signal issues, with this recent problem I am searching for service more than i have it.

I just figured maybe I had done something wrong when flashing a radio, or a rom, but I had done it so many times before without any error.

I was reading some post about the posiblity of reloading the PRL via ESPT (probably got that wrong), something along those lines anyway, and that this procedure could "refresh" radio.

Thanks.

By the way I tried your rom intx and loved it, will probably use once this signal issue can be resolved. Thanks!

Re: Intermittent Service

You were correct, you can reload the PRL thru EPST.

Have you tried reflashing the radio?

Also, glad you liked the rom. 1.2 coming soon.

Yes, unfortuantely I have tried many different radios including stock telus 1.04.05 radio, with no change. Is the procedure for reloading PRL essentially same results as reflashing radio?

After I did load everything back to stock and relock phone, I did contact telus support and they "programmed" my phone via #22803, and reload prl.

I needed a phone..and thinking this could very well be a hardware issue... I recently picked up a touch dual (50 bucks, temorary i hope). Telus wouldnt replace diamond because my litmus paper was slighty changed, even tho my phone has never seen water...booo telus...booo.

The crappy thing is that now i want to play with touch dual and looks like the Canadian CDMA Touch Dual has no custom roms or hack any where. lol

Oh well now i have a 500 dollar diamond that can be used for gps. lol :???:

Re: Intermittent Service

Do you have insurance? They will probably replace it if Telus won't.

I'm assuming you've tried multiple hard resets and whatnot.

Mm, yeah Touch Dual won't do much in terms of Roms.

I wish you luck getting it working bro.

Re: Intermittent Service

Insurance? Do you mean extra, like i ran over my phone with my car insurance?, then no.

Do you think htc would take the device back? Or will litmus bs still be their deciding factor for warranty. Mine is only 7 months old and it should still be under warranty.

thanks!
