Re: 3G phone?
The HTC Touch Diamond for sprint is 3G enabled. Sprint and Verizon use CDMA technology whereas AT&T and Tmobile are GSM carriers.

Re: 3G phone?
yea, 3g is short for 3rd generation. cdma's 3g came years ago with evdo.
@op you need to fill in your profile info to show your carrier. the only gsm carriers in the US are ATT and T-mobile lol, here's my first 3g phone. http://www.3g.co.uk/PR/Sept2002/PCS%...20SPH-A500.jpg |
Re: 3G phone?
Yes. You can do what is called Tethering to download at DSL-like speeds. The technology that 3G uses on CDMA is called EVDO.

I even had the camara attachement since it was the only way to take pictures at the time. IT WAS $100!!!! |
Re: 3G phone?
In EV-DO mode, it's 3G. In 1X mode, it's "2.5G"
CDMA is actually a hybrid of the 2. Read about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDMA2000 |
Re: 3G phone?
It's annoying that you can't use EVDO for texting/phone calls. Stinking cheap carriers.
