I had to get 2 new diamonds due to this issue. The port inside can become disconnected.

Have you tried reflashing your ROM? Perhaps you have a corrupt USB2PC...

I assume mine eventually stopped charging too. One day I plugged it in to charge and then it was dead and wouldn't turn on. I tried the normal steps to get it going but no go, dead. Telus swapped it since it's under warranty for the first year.
About a month ago I bought a package of Ebay for $15. It was a car charger a battery and wall charger. It was a few weeks later I began to see the connection problems so I assume one of the three caused my issue. Just remember you get what you pay for. I'm not using them anymore.

If you're on Sprint, you may be able to get a free replacement from their advanced tech support department. I definitely was.

what os are you running on your pc. if its xp have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling activesync.
