Re: Texting and Battery Life?

Here are some personal tips:

1. Delete opera refrence in the registry (HKCU>Software>HTC>Bootloader>Apps>Opera 9)
2. Disable voice command (start>settings>voice commmand)
3. Turn off auto backlight
4. Turn down backlight
5. Set to 1x
6. If you're in a place with little to no service, you might as well put your phone into airplane mode, as it kills the battery looking for service.
7. Set weather app to update manually
8. Set email to update manually

Basically, anything that uses data needs to be killed (until you need to use it)

To give an I idea of what this will do to a battery, yesterday at the zoo, i spent 4 hours texting, calling, taking TONS of pics and vids, and when i left (5 hours) it was still in the mid 90's as far as percent....I have tried many roms and so far the most solid for battery and solid all round is Reborn...but that part is subjective..

ALSO:

When you flash to a rom, do a few hard resets. "Give it at least a few days for the battery to kick in nicely." (A tip from Mighty himself! :P)

So would you say going to 1X improved your battery life the most or MightyRom or just getting a new battery?

How many hours of talk time (or the equivalent, eg. intensely heavy usage) can you get out of your Diamond now that you have had it for a few months?

Thanks Obvious.

Re: Texting and Battery Life?

Well it's tough to say what exactly makes the battery run good but all three factors make a huge difference. I usually get the said amount of text messages and can last maybe twelve hours depending on how much I use it.

Re: Texting and Battery Life?

Has anyone had a case where there is no Mode Of Operations, even after the registry tweak? That's an issue I'm having.

Maybe the registry entry didn't stick? Sometimes you have to wait a minute or so after making the reg entry for it to commit. Then soft reset.

Also - double check the reg entry, you probably had minor typo or something like that.

Re: Texting and Battery Life?

Yeah, just double checked. Even renamed it to "HiddenModeOperation" as opposed to "HiddenModeOperationPage" which is what it was originally named. The reason I'm trying to find this menu is because my TP2 seems to be stuck in 1x mode.

Same problem on my TP2. Anyone find a solution?

Odd. Maybe it's your service or your PRL?
