How to remove cab files under windows folder

I am deleting some files from the main storage. But the cab files under windows cannot be deleted in the file exploer.
Is there any way to get rid of them?
Thanks

Re: How to remove cab files under windows folder

You can delete them with file explorer if you use the d-pad to highlight them and then click on the menu softkey and select delete. I recommend that you create a zip archive in internal storage called backup cabs or something and add those cabs in there before you delete them from your windows folder. Then you will gain some memory and have a compressed backup of all your cabs.

Hey, have you tried your way? I tried, didn't work, even with total commander.
and again, even you "can" delete the file or replace (yes you can) the file with a 0KB file, the available main storage space will not increase.
I have confirm this on my HTC TOUCH DIAMOND last night.

Thanks

Re: How to remove cab files under windows folder

These files cannot be deleted. They are built into the rom itself when it was cooked and therefore cannot be modified moved or deleted. Resco file explorer is the only program that people have SAID they've used to delete them, but this did not work for me nor did it work for anybody else.

Hmm...I am curious. Which cabs specifically are you trying to delete? Yes, there are some that I believe that are used by WinMo that can't be moved or deleted but most can.
