Verizon Touch Diamond vs GSM

From what I could find in pics and reviews, the Verizon Touch Diamond looks almost identical to the GSM version. If that's true, how come the Verizon version is 0.71" thick (thicker than the Sprint/Alltel version) while the GSM version is 0.53"? Is it an error on the HTC website, or does the Verizon Diamond have a bigger battery? If it's just the battery, is it possible to use the GSM slim battery and back cover on a Verizon Touch Diamond to get the 0.53" thickness?

I think it's because of the battery but I don't know if it's compatible. Not only that but the GSM battery is 900mAH while the CDMA is 1350mAH so you loose any chance of making it through the day anyway. That said why are you looking at the Verizon Diamond? They don't have the unlocker for it.
